(IN)FLUX: Arctic Present, Planet Future Ep. 1
(IN)FLUX: Arctic Present, Planet Future is an ongoing, episodic multi-platform video project by artist Rob Reynolds and filmmaker David Udris, filmed in Arctic Greenland (2019–2023) and U.S. science labs through 2026. Single channel and multi-channel immersive versions in progress.
Spanning the warmest period on record, the work reframes the Arctic through the eyes of leading scientists and indigenous human experience, tracing the interdependence of ice, ocean, climate, and living systems. Combining aerial, underwater, and satellite imaging with field research in remote glacial environments, the project translates complex, in situ science into a visual language of urgency and scale. Featuring collaborators from NASA/JPL, UC Boulder, Boise State, and Moss Landing Marine Labs, with Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenlandic) environmental insight. Supported by the Berggruen Institute, IF Innovation Foundation, BirdRib, and the National Science Foundation.
